Aoun was nominated to participate in the World Government Summit 2019 under the patronage of his Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan from 11-12 February in Dubai, UAE. The Summit calls for governments to evolve, as mandated by the technological advances of the last few decades.
Aoun was selected among startups from the region to enhance the participation of Arab youth leaders in a stimulating forum for exchange of ideas and to propose solutions to the most relevant issues. Sari Al Hweitat, Aoun Founder and CEO, presented the efforts of the social enterprise within the maintenance sector since its establishment in 2016. Jordan lacks a formalized maintenance sector hence the need for a platform to connect the customers to maintenance service providers. Aoun bridges the gap between East and West Amman, and connects providers who live on the outskirts of Amman – and in other governorates – with customers who they otherwise would have not connected with or known about had it not been for the platform to introduce this linkage. “For Aoun, our greatest impact lies in job creation, creating equal opportunity and improving livelihoods of service providers.” Sari explained, “businesses can and should pursue a larger social purpose. When Aoun creates 1 million JOD in revenue, 800,000 JOD goes directly to our providers which amount to 250+ providers within the Kingdom.”
